Raleigh police have announced, according to the News and Observer that Kathy Taft has died.
Taft, a Greenville resident and member of the State Board of Education, was reported to have been viciously attacked in a Raleigh residence this past weekend. She was taken to Wake Medical Center where family members reported that she was in critical condition in Intensive Care.
